CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) - The Carolina Hurricanes start a four-game Western Conference trip when they take on the Calgary Flames on Tuesday.

The Stanley Cup champions were impressive in their last outing, a 5-2 pounding of the Boston Bruins on Saturday.

Eric Staal scored twice while Erik Cole, Justin Williams and Ray Whitney also scored for the Hurricanes, who have defeated Boston twice this season while outscoring them, 10-3.

The Flames try for their third straight victory after edging the Columbus Blue Jackets, 2-1, on Friday. Trailing, 1-0, early in the third period, the Flames received goals from Jarome Iginla and Chuck Kobasew just 2:28 apart en route to the win.

Iginla is three goals shy of 300 and one assist away from 300. Miikka Kiprusoff made 18 saves for Calgary, which outshot Columbus, 31-19.

The Flames have won seven straight home games since a 4-2 defeat to the Washington Capitals on October 30.
