SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) -- Jonathan Cheechoo had been fairly quiet this season, but now looks on the verge of heating up.

Cheechoo, who has three goals in his last three games, leads the San Jose Sharks against the Phoenix Coyotes on Monday.

The right wing broke his slump with a goal in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Colorado Avalanche, but then again hooked up with Joe Thornton to score two goals against the Nashville Predators in a 3-1 triumph on Saturday.

The reigning Maurice Richard Trophy winner, Cheechoo now has 10 goals this season. He scored the eventual game-winner at 16:37 of the first period off a pass from Thornton.

The Coyotes try to rebound from a 4-3 overtime loss to the Dallas Stars on Saturday. Phoenix trailed, 3-1, before Owen Nolan scored to slice the deficit to 3-2 early in the second period.

Mike Zigomanis tied the game, 3-3, early in the third period before Jere Lehtinen won the game for the Stars in overtime.

Phoenix, which surrendered 44 shots, went 2-for-5 on the power play.
