RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- The Carolina Hurricanes are glad to be home for the holidays.

The defending Stanley Cup champions return home to face the Toronto Maple Leafs after a winless four-game road trip.

Carolina finished the trip with a 5-2 loss to Colorado on Tuesday. The Hurricanes took a 2-1 lead on Justin Williams' goal 1:08 into the third period, but allowed Colorado to score four unanswered goals.

Williams scored both goals for Carolina, which allowed three power-play goals.

The Maple Leafs can breathe a little easier after snapping a seven-game losing streak with a 5-4 victory over Tampa Bay on Tuesday. Chad Kilger led the Leafs with two goals while Darcy Tucker added a goal and an assist.

Jean-Sebastien Aubin started in net for Toronto but was pulled after allowing three goals on only nine shots. Andrew Raycroft replaced Aubin and stopped all but one of the 17 shots he faced.

Toronto converted on 2-of-4 power-play opportunities. Tucker's goal was his 13th with the extra skater, tying him for the league lead in power-play goals with Atlanta's Marian Hossa.
