UNIONDALE, New York (Ticker) -- Anson Carter and the Columbus Blue Jackets have shown signs of life over the last month.

The Blue Jackets look for their third victory in their last four games when they visit the New York Islanders on Saturday.

Columbus improved to 7-2-1 in its last 11 games with a 3-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Friday.

Carter ended a three-game scoreless drought with a goal and an assist while Rick Nash scored the game-winner for the Blue Jackets, who improved to 8-5-1 since Ken Hitchcock was named coach on November 23.

The Islanders had their two-game winning streak snapped in a 5-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday.
