Anaheim (28-7-6) at Detroit (24-9-5) 7:30 pm EST
DETROIT (Ticker) -- It will be a special evening in Detroit, as the Red Wings will honor one of their all-time greats, Steve Yzerman, before hosting the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday.
Detroit will retire Yzerman's number 19 and hang a banner in the rafters of Joe Louis Arena.
Yzerman's number will join the five currently retired numbers, all of which will be represented as former Red Wing stars Gordie Howe, Alex Delvecchio and Ted Lindsay will attend while members of the Terry Sawchuk family and the Sid Abel family will be on hand to honor Yzerman.
The Red Wings will then take on the Ducks, whose 62 points is the most in the NHL.
Detroit has been playing well lately in going 4-0-1 in their last five. Pavel Datsyuk and Jason Williams each had a goal and an assist to lead the Red Wings to a 6-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday.
The Ducks finish a five-game road trip where they have only gone 1-3-0 so far. Anaheim lost its second straight in a 4-3 loss to the Minnesota Wild on Sunday.
Teemu Selanne had two goals and an assist for the Ducks while defenseman Scott Niedermayer had a goal and a pair of assists.
