CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- When the Calgary Flames have needed an offensive spark this season, captain Jarome Iginla has given them plenty to work with.

Iginla hopes he can deliver again when Flames host the the Florida Panthers on Thursday in the first encounter between the clubs in nearly three years.

A two-time Maurice Richard Trophy winner, Iginla was named the league's "First Star" in December after collecting 10 goals and 16 assists in 14 games. He has 22 tallies and 30 assists this season to rank among the league leaders in points (52).

Matthew Lombardi scored twice, including a shorthanded tally, and Kristian Huselius added a pair of assists for Calgary in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks.

After splitting 14 games in December, the Panthers lost for the third time in five games with Tuesday's 4-1 loss against the Edmonton Oilers.

Florida yielded the first four goals before Olli Jokinen scored his 16th of the campaign with less than five minutes left. The loss lowered the Panthers' road record to 5-12-5 this season.
