PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island (Ticker) -- Felix Potvin bounced back
from a pair of tough performances with 28 saves and Glen Murray
scored a power-play goal to give the Boston Bruins a 1-0
preseason victory over the New Jersey Devils.

goals in his first two preseason appearances. But he helped the
Bruins kill six power plays as they blanked the defending
Stanley Cup champions.
Murray converted on the first of Boston's four power plays.
Just 15 seconds into a high-sticking penalty on Grant Marshall,
Murray got a pass from Joe Thornton in the slot and put a
backhander past goaltender Corey Schwab at 2:44 of the opening
Schwab stopped 17 shots as the Devils rested Vezina Trophy
winner Martin Brodeur and Scott Gomez.
New Jersey had a chance to tie early in the third period but
came up empty during an 82-second two-man advantage.
