"Teams that have success have a great goaltender," Rivet said.
"Theo kept us in the game and gave us a chance to win."
Montreal is 4-1 in its last five games.
"We let other teams get back in the hunt after the All-Star
break when we lost four straight," Koivu said. "But now we are
gaining some confidence against quality teams."
Rivet scored the winner when he skated past the Boston defense
and put a shot from the slot past goalie Andrew Raycroft.
Travis Green tied the game when he knocked down Nick Boynton's
shot from the point and backhanded a shot past Theodore early in
the second period. Boynton assisted on both Boston goals.
"We had our chances, but we gave them chances," Raycroft said.

Perreault and Michael Ryder. Perreault's one-timer beat Raycroft,
and Ryder tied Richard Zednik for the team lead with 19 goals with
a power-play score. Ryder has four goals in the last four games.
"He's (Theodore) our leader," Ryder said. "When he is on top
of his game and we aren't playing our best, we trust that he will
pull it out for us."
Martin Lapointe sandwiched in a power-play goal for Boston when
he knocked in a rebound off a shot by Brian Rolston. Lapointe's
goal snapped a Bruins scoreless drought of 152 minutes, 53 seconds,
and it was Boston's second power-play goal in its last 26 chances.
Perreault's goal ended a streak of 105:18 in which the Canadiens
failed to score against Boston.
Green returned to the lineup after missing 10 games with a
rib injury. ... Saku Koivu's two assists gave him six in the last
four games. ... Boston's Patrice Bergeron missed the game with a
shoulder bruise and Sergei Samsonov remained out of the lineup with
a rib injury. ... Montreal is 7-11-1 against the Northeast Division
this season. ... Mike Ribeiro's assist added to his team-leading 53
points for the Canadiens.
