CALGARY, Alberta (AP) -- Daymond Langkow had a goal and an assist
Tuesday night, and the Calgary Flames beat the Vancouver Canucks
3-1 in a preseason game.

Adam Cracknell snapped a 1-1 tie with 3:33 left to give the
Flames a 2-1 lead. Langkow followed with a breakaway goal just over
two minutes later to seal the win.

Tony Amonte also scored for Calgary. Josh Green had the lone
goal for the Canucks in their exhibition opener.

The only regular put into the Vancouver lineup by new head coach
Alain Vigneault was center Matt Cooke.

Calgary, in its second game, iced a more experienced group
including second-year defenseman Dion Phaneuf -- making his season
debut. The heavy hitter leveled Canucks forward Gordie Dwyer just
35 seconds into the game.

Green gave the Canucks a 1-0 just 49 seconds after the opening

Calgary tied it during a power play by capitalizing on good puck
movement by Amonte, Byron Ritchie and Dustin Boyd, who had an

Flames defenseman Rhett Warrener left the game early in the
second period with an undisclosed injury.
