TORONTO (AP) -- Former University of Minnesota star John Pohl scored a goal to help the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Montreal Canadiens 5-1 on Friday night.

Darcy Tucker, Mats Sundin, Aleksander Suglobov and Alexei Ponikarovsky also scored for Toronto, 2-1 in preseason play. Jean-Sebastien Aubin was sharp in stopping 22 shots.

Jann Danis allowed three goals before Jaroslav Halak took over for the Canadiens after 30 minutes. Jonathan Ferland scored for Montreal (0-3).
