EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) -- Joffrey Lupul had a goal and two assists to help the Edmonton Oilers beat the Vancouver Canucks 5-4 in exhibition play Wednesday night.

Marc-Antoine Pouliot, Jarrett Stoll, Fernando Pisani Ryan Smyth also scored for the Oilers (5-1-0). Alexander Burrows, Ryan Kesler, Patrick Coloumbe and Jannick Hansen scored for the Canucks (1-5-0).

Lupul, an Edmonton-area native who also scored a goal against Calgary last Saturday night, has four points in four preseason games since joining the Oilers in the trade that sent Chris Pronger to Anaheim.

Lupul opened the scoring for Edmonton, wristing a hard shot past goalie Wade Flaherty at 2:52 of the first period on the Oilers' first shot of the game.
