DALLAS-- Rookie James Neal scored the go-ahead goal in the third period to help the Dallas Stars beat the St. Louis Blues 4-3 in exhibition play Saturday night.
Steve Ott, Brenden Morrow and B.J. Crombeen also scored for the Stars (1-2).
With the game tied at 1, Roman Polak's slap shot from center point 10 seconds into the Blues' third power play of the night beat Dallas goalie Marty Turco to give St. Louis the lead at 1:52 of the final period.
But Ott pulled Dallas even at 2 with a goal from the slot at 5:33, and Neal up the Stars in front 1:37 later, skating from behind the net and beating goalie Chris Mason with a backhander. Morrow made it 4-2 at 9:13.
David Perron's power-play goal for St. Louis at 13:16 cut it to 4-3.
Matt Foy scored a first-period goal for the Blues (2-2).
