Conditions improving for Classic

With the puck drop on the Winter Classic approaching, conditions were improving at Heinz Field.

A league official told's Pierre LeBrun that the ice conditions are very good. Outside of a few showers around the 6:15 p.m. ET mark, the official said conditions are expected to be dry with dropping temperatures.

In a pregame interview on the NHL Network, league ice guru Dan Craig said a lot of water was removed Saturday morning and the ice was "toughening up" as the day went on.
