Three bidders seek 2017 Alpine worlds

OBERHOFEN, Switzerland -- Switzerland's St. Moritz and Italian resort Cortina d'Ampezzo have made a third straight bid to host Alpine skiing's world championships.

The International Ski Federation said Tuesday that bidding for the 2017 event is a three-way contest with Are in Sweden.

St. Moritz and Cortina lost to Austria's Schladming for 2013 rights and Vail-Beaver Creek in the United States for 2015. Are hosted in 2007.

The FIS ruling council will select the winner in June ...
