Slovakia's Kuzmina gets 1st biathlon World Cup win

ANTHOLZ, Italy -- Anastasiya Kuzmina of Slovakia claimed her first biathlon World Cup victory of the season after a perfect race in a 7.5-kilometer sprint on Thursday.

Kuzmina, who won gold in the event at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, started 32nd but shot cleanly and crossed the line 16.7 seconds ahead of second-place Kaisa Makarainen of Finland.

Makarainen had one penalty, along with Darya Domracheva of Belarus, who finished third.
