Rogge praises China for 2014 Youth Games

BEIJING -- IOC President Jacques Rogge has praised China's preparations for the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in the eastern city of Nanjing.

Rogge welcomed the "impressive progress" in preparations after meeting Tuesday with senior officials of the organizing committee, including the Communist Party secretary and governor of surrounding Nanjing province.

Rogge also visited a mock-up of a dormitory room in the Youth Olympic Village, where construction is ahead of schedule.
