Skiers to attach TV camera to goggles at worlds
SCHLADMING, Austria -- When Marcel Hirscher clears the gates during a slalom run at the skiing world championships, TV viewers will be right there with him.
Austrian broadcaster ORF on Thursday announced the use of mini-cameras with transmitters, which will be attached to the strap of the goggles racers wear during the slalom and giant slalom.
It's the first time in ski racing that pictures from an athlete's perspective will be integrated into the regular live broadcast.
