Ex-world snowboard champion Neururer set to retire
INNSBRUCK, Austria -- Former snowboard world champion Heidi Neururer of Austria says she'll retire after the World Cup parallel giant slalom on Sunday.
In a statement from the Austrian ski federation, the 34-year-old Neururer says she's retiring one year before the Sochi Winter Olympics because the past two seasons have been disappointing and she's "lacking the mental strength to keep fighting."
