MENDE, France -- Alberto Contador won the fourth stage of
the Paris-Nice race Thursday, and Davide Rebellin took over the
Contador finished 2 seconds ahead of Rebellin and 12 seconds
clear of David Lopez Garcia.
Contador, a Spaniard who races for Discovery Channel, completed
the 105-mile trek from Maurs La Jolie to Mende in 4 hours, 7
minutes, 26 seconds.
Rebellin leads Contador by 6 seconds, with Tadej Valjavec of
Slovenia improving to third overall after placing fifth on
Friday's fifth stage takes riders on a 110.4-mile route from
Sorgues to Manosque. The race ends Sunday in Nice.
