Schleck attacks on climb, wins fourth stage
TRIESENBERG-MALBUN, Liechtenstein -- Frank Schleck attacked during a grueling climb to win the fourth stage of the Tour de Suisse on Tuesday and take the leader's yellow jersey from CSC teammate Fabian Cancellara.
Schleck completed the 104-mile stage from Nauders to Triesenberg-Malbun in Liechtenstein in 4 hours, 20 minutes, 37 seconds. It was his fifth career stage victory.
Vladimir Efimkin of Russia was second, 32 seconds back. Jose Angel Gomez Marchante was third, 42 seconds behind.
"I was scared for a while I wouldn't be able to maintain my rhythm," Schleck said. "It was a bit of a risk I took. I'm really here to prepare myself for the Tour de France and wanted to test myself."
The fifth stage heads back to Switzerland.
