Bourgain wins World Cup gold for France in sprint
SYDNEY, Australia -- Mickael Bourgain of France beat Kevin Sireau 2-0 in the sprint final Sunday at a World Cup track cycling event.
Chris Hoy of Britain defeated Gregory Bauge of France 2-0 for the bronze at the Dunc Gray Velodrome.
In the women's pursuit final, the Russian team of Eugeniya Romanyuta, Olga Slyusareva and Anastasiay Chulkova finished in 3 minutes, 9.072 seconds to defeat the Australian team of Belinda Goss, Katie Mactier and Josephine Tomic.
World champion Victoria Pendleton of Britain won the keirin ahead of Jennie Reed of the United States. Natalia Tsylinskaya of Belarus was third.
