Cancellara takes Tour de Suisse stage; Kirchen keeps lead
LYSS, Switzerland -- Switzerland's Fabian Cancellara won the seventh stage of the Tour de Suisse on Friday, and Kim Kirchen kept the overall leader's yellow jersey.
Cancellara, the world time trial champion who rides for the CSC team, surged 3 miles from the end and finished 2 seconds ahead of the main group, finishing in 3 hours, 47 minutes, 9 seconds.
Veteran sprinters Erik Zabel of Germany and Robbie McEwen of Australia finished second and third on the 106-mile flat course from Gruyere to Lyss. The race ends Sunday.
