LAUSANNE, Switzerland -- Michael Rasmussen will speak before the Court of Arbitration for Sport at his Nov. 14 appeals hearing in an attempt to overturn his two-year ban from cycling. The Danish rider is appealing the Monaco Cycling Federation's decision in July to suspend his racing license for two years. The ban was applied from the day Rasmussen was removed from the 2007 Tour de France and runs through to July 25, 2009. He was leading the race and seemed certain to win when his Rabobank team withdrew him for lying about his whereabouts when he missed pre-race doping tests. The 34-year-old rider told the International Cycling Union he was in Mexico when he was actually in Italy and France. He has acknowledged lying about his whereabouts to the governing body but insists his team knew where he was.
