FRANKFURT -- German rider Olaf Pollack, who won a silver medal at last year's world track cycling championships, has been suspended for failing a drug test.
The German cycling federation says Thursday that Pollack tested positive on July 6 in an out-of-competition test by the national Anti-Doping Agency. The federation did not reveal the banned substance. Pollack has asked for his "B" sample to be analyzed.
Markus Cronjaeger, a lower-tier rider, tested positive during a race on July 11. He has not asked for his backup sample to be tested.
