COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Reigning U.S. junior figure skating champion DeeDee Leng will miss the rest of the 2009-10 season with a back injury.

The 15-year-old also announced Wednesday that she will switch coaches, parting ways with Maria Jezak-Athey after a year of working together. Leng will now join up with Julie Wang at the DuPage Figure Skating Club in Naperville, Ill.

Leng hasn't competed since finishing seventh in early September at the International Skating Union Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series event in Lake Placid, N.Y.

To help heal her back, Leng is relying on rest and physical therapy. She is also going through acupuncture to help reduce the inflammation and muscle spasms.
