Team trials start July 21

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Saint Joseph's Phil Martelli was named head coach of the 2005 U.S. under-21 men's team Monday.

Georgia's Dennis Felton and Drexel's James Flint were named assistants.

Martelli was an assistant coach for U.S. teams in the 2001 FIBA World Championship For Young Men and the 1998 Goodwill Games. Both teams won gold.

In 10 seasons at Saint Joseph's, he is 203-111 with four appearances in the NCAA Tournament and three in the National Invitational Tournament.

Team trials start July 21 in Dallas.
