Germany, Norway win cross country relays
BEITOSTOLEN, Norway -- Germany won the men's cross country ski relay and Norway captured the women's relay Sunday at a World Cup meet.
The German quartet covered the 40-kilometer mixed-style relay in 1 hour, 31 minutes, 37.5 seconds.
Andreas Schlutter and Axel Teichmann, last year's individual World Cup overall champion, skied the first two classic-style legs for the Germans. Jens Filbrich and Tobias Angerer skied the last two freestyle legs.
France was 4.3 seconds behind in second place and Norway was third.
The Norwegian team of Ella Gjomle, Vibeke Skofterud, Hilde G. Pedersen and defending individual overall champion Marit Bjorgen clocked 54:28.2 in the 20K women's event.
Germany was second and Finland third.
