Bjorgen wins third straight World Cup race
KUUSAMO, Finland -- Marit Bjorgen of Norway won the women's 10-kilometer classic style cross country race Saturday for her third straight World Cup victory of the season.
Bjorgen, the World Cup champion, finished ahead of Finland's Virpi Kuitunen and Germany's Claudia Kuenzel to follow her success at a sprint in Germany and a 10K classic in Norway.
The 25-year-old finished in 26 minutes, 33 seconds, beating Kuitunen by 29 seconds. Kuenzel finished in 27:06.7.
"This felt easier than when I won in Beitostolen," Bjorgen said. "The start to the season has been very good, but I expect to get challenged."
Bjorgen leads the overall standings with 300 points. Kuitunen has 200 and Aino-Kaisa Saarinen 160.
