Australian women beat U.S. 76-65
CANBERRA, Australia -- Lauren Jackson scored 23 points to rally Australia past the United States 76-65 Wednesday in the final of a four-nation tournament.
Jackson made four 3-pointers to help Australia break the U.S. domination of recent games. Candace Parker scored 26 points on 12-of-14 shooting for the U.S., which led 38-34 at halftime.
The U.S. beat Australia for the gold medal at the 2000 Sydney and 2004 Athens Olympics, and routed Australia 83-63 earlier this week.
Tina Thompson had 20 points and 11 rebounds for the U.S., while Belinda Snell added 20 points for Australia.
In an earlier game, Miao Lijie had 19 points to lead China past Taiwan 91-61.
