LOS ANGELES -- A restraining order has been issued against a man authorities said tried to break onto the Los Angeles set of "Dancing With the Stars" to meet Shawn Johnson.
Robert O'Ryan, 34, was arrested by police on Tuesday. According to court documents, O'Ryan jumped a fence at CBS Studios in Los Angeles where the show was filming but was caught by security.
Police later searched his car and found a loaded shotgun, a loaded Colt .45 handgun, Johnson memorabilia and duct tape, People magazine reported on its Web site. Bail was set at $35,000.
Records show that O'Ryan told security guards and police that he packed up all of his belongings and traveled to California from Florida in the hopes of being with Johnson.
"This incident has caused us severe emotional distress," Teri Johnson, the gymnast's mother, stated in court papers, according to People. "We have been on the move ever since and have not been able to rest at all for fear that this disturbed person will attempt to make good on his statements and attempt to harm my daughter and possibly us as well."
The 17-year-old Johnson is a gold medalist in gymnastics and a top-scoring celebrity contestant on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars."
O'Ryan has been ordered to stay 100 yards away from Johnson, not to communicate with her and not to harass her parents or dancing partner Mark Ballas, according to People.
