Walsh picks McPeak for Chicago event
CHICAGO -- Two-time Olympic beach volleyball gold medalist Kerri Walsh needed another new partner, and she found a Hall of Famer to fill in.
Holly McPeak, who retired in May, will join Walsh for the AVP's Chicago Open at the Oak Street Beach.
Walsh won two Olympic championships with Misty May-Treanor, who's still recovering from a tendon injury she sustained practicing for Dancing With the Stars.
Walsh returned to the pro beach volleyball tour in early August, barely three months after the birth of her first child. She was teamed up with Rachel Wacholder, until she hurt her shoulder.
McPeak, an Olympic bronze medalist, is due to be inducted into the volleyball hall of fame this fall.
