Officials released from hospital
NEW DELHI -- A Ugandan diplomat says three of the country's officials were injured when their car hit a road barrier while entering the Commonwealth Games village.
Dora Kutesan says the officials were thrown around in their vehicle as it braked sharply after being hit by a sharp-edged barrier that rose suddenly from the ground Tuesday night.
The officials, including Ugandan chef de mission William Tumwine, sustained injuries including cuts on the head and were taken to a hospital for treatment, Kutesan told The Associated Press on Thursday.
"They were discharged from hospital on Wednesday after they were kept under observation for a day. They are still feeling pain but are OK," she said.
