Matt Antoine heads U.S. skeleton team
PARK CITY, Utah -- Olympians Eric Bernotas and John Daly and former Intercontinental Cup champion Matt Antoine have been chosen for the U.S. men's skeleton World Cup team for the coming season.
Annie O'Shea and Kimber Gabryszak were picked for the women's team on the World Cup circuit, which opens at the 2010 Olympic track in Whistler, British Columbia, from Nov. 25-27.
Antoine and Gabryszak locked up their spots with wins in selection races on the 2002 Olympic course in Park City on Saturday night.
Rebecca Sorensen earned enough points in the selection-race process to qualify for the World Cup team, but chose to not slide on the circuit this season. She'll instead coach in the U.S. developmental programs, and plans to vie for a World Cup slot again next season.
