Ankle injury to sideline Jaden Schwartz
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Canadian forward Jaden Schwartz will miss the rest of the world junior hockey championship tournament because of an ankle injury.
Schwartz was hurt in a 7-2 win over the Czech Republic on Tuesday. He had a goal and two assists in two tournament games.
Schwartz plays for Colorado College and was selected 14th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the NHL draft in June.
Canada is 3-0 and closes the preliminary round Friday against Sweden. A win would give the Canadians the top spot in Group B and an automatic berth in the semifinals Monday.
