SOELDEN, Austria -- Organizers from Austria, France, Switzerland and Italy have revealed plans to hold a European skiing championship indoors next month.

Slalom races for men and women are scheduled to be held on an artificial course in Amneville, France, on Nov. 7.

Organizers said on Sunday that they already have 80 skiers registered from 12 nations.

International Ski Federation president Gian-Franco Kasper had intimated that World Cup skiers could be suspended if they compete in the new competition, although he appears to have relaxed his stance.
