John Kucera reinjures broken leg
John Kucera, the 2009 downhill world champion, has re-injured the leg he broke a little more than a year ago, the Canadian ski team said.
Kucera hurt his left tibia, which he originally fractured in November 2009, in a crash during a training run in Aspen, Colorado.
The team says in a press release Kucera will return to Calgary where doctors will assess if he requires more surgery.
Kucera says he's "kind of shocked. ... It's a bad luck situation -- my ski just popped off."
Kucera was hoping to return to competition at the end of this season or the start of 2011-12.
