Britain wins team pursuit in cycling, sets another world record
BEIJING -- Britain won the men's team pursuit gold medal at the Laoshan Velodrome, knocking nearly two seconds off the world record it set a day earlier.
The team of Ed Clancy, Paul Manning, Geraint Thomas and individual pursuit gold-medalist Bradley Wiggins finished the 4,000 meters in 3 minutes, 53.314 seconds Monday, beating silver-medalist Denmark in the final.
New Zealand beat archrival Australia to take the bronze medal.
Britain has now won 12 gold medals in Beijing, the most of any Olympics since 1920.
