USA Swimming selects coaches for '07 meets

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Dave Salo of Southern California
and Paul Yetter of North Baltimore Aquatic Club will coach the U.S.
men's and women's swimming teams in the 2007 Pan American Games.

Salo, who has coached Olympic medalists Lenny Krayzelburg, Aaron
Peirsol and Amanda Beard, took over as head coach at USC earlier
this year. He coached the U.S. men's teams at the 2005 world
championships in Montreal and the 2001 Goodwill Games.

Yetter, the personal coach of rising star Katie Hoff, was an
assistant at the recent Pan Pacific Championships and last year's
world championships.

The Pan Am Games are July 12-22 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Also Friday, USA Swimming announced Dennis Dale of Minnesota and
Cyndi Gallagher of UCLA will coach the men's and women's teams in
the World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand, from Aug. 5-18.

It is the first major international assignment for Dale, whose
Minnesota teams have won four Big Ten titles in six years.
Gallagher was an assistant at the 1997, 2001 and 2005 WUGs.
