Dumais among 8 divers named to U.S. team for Pan Am Games
INDIANAPOLIS -- Californian Troy Dumais and seven divers who either live or train in Indiana have been selected for the U.S. team in the Pan American Games next month.
The diving competition will be July 25-28 in Rio de Janeiro.
Dumais, a two-time Olympian, will compete in his third Pan American Games. He won bronze medals at 3 meters in 1999 and 2003 and teamed with his brother, Justin, for a bronze in the 3-meter synchronized dive in 2003. This year, he will compete at 3 meters and team with Mitch Richeson of Greenwood, Ind., in the 3-meter synchro.
The other U.S. divers include longtime teammates David Boudia of Noblesville, Ind., and Thomas Finchum of Indianapolis, who will compete at 10 meters and the synchronized 10 meters. The two have won medals in synchro events in each of their past six international competitions, including gold medals at the USA Diving Grand Prix last month.
The U.S. women are Mary Beth Dunnichay of Elwood, Ind., Kelci Bryant of Chatham, Ill., Ariel Rittenhouse of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Haley Ishimatsu of Seal Beach, Calif. Bryant, Rittenhouse and Ishimatsu all train in Indianapolis.
