Jensen, Hardy add swimming wins at Speedo Grand Challenge

IRVINE, Calif. -- Larsen Jensen won the 1,500-meter freestyle at the Speedo Grand Challenge on Sunday, giving him two victories in the tuneup meet for next month's U.S. Olympic trials.

Jensen won his specialty in 15 minutes, 5.87 seconds. The Olympian, who trains at Southern California, finished 14.33 seconds ahead of Chad LaTourette. Jensen won the 400 free and was second in the 200 free Saturday.

Jessica Hardy wrapped up a successful meet with a victory in the 100 freestyle. She touched in 54.44, nearly 2 seconds ahead of Brooke Bishop. Hardy, seeking to make her first Olympic team, won the 50 free and 100 breaststroke Friday and finished second in the 100 butterfly Saturday.

Peter Marshall took the 100 backstroke by 1.55 seconds, finishing in 55.55. He won the 200 back Saturday.

Rebecca Soni, Hardy's training partner at USC, won the 200 breaststroke in 2:24.74.

Dominik Meichtry won the 100 free in 49.62 to go with his win in the 200 free Saturday.

Lynette Lim won the 800 free in 8:48.46, ahead of Lyndsay DePaul, who earlier swept the 200 and 400 individual medleys. DePaul finished second to Yumi So in the 200 fly Sunday.
