Ryan Bailey scored with 6½ minutes left in the third quarter Tuesday, sparking four straight goals by the Americans. The U.S. will face the winner of the Spain-Canada match in Thursday's semifinals.
Serbia moved on to the semifinals when Filip Filipovic scored with 1:37 remaining in extra time for a 10-9 victory over Hungary. The Serbians took advantage of a man-advantage after a foul.
Serbia will face the winner of the Croatia-Romania match.
