Oussama Mellouli wins 5th race at GP
COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Jessica Hardy and Oussama Mellouli did it again at the Missouri Grand Prix.
Hardy beat American record holder Amanda Weir in the 100-meter freestyle in 54.66 seconds a night after she won the 50 free.
Mellouli won twice, taking the 1,500 free and the 100 free to run his total of wins to five at the meet. The Olympic gold medalist from Tunisia beat three other Olympians in the 100, finishing in 50.15 seconds. That was nearly the amount of his margin in the 1,500, where his time of 15 minutes, 1.65 seconds was almost 47 seconds ahead of anyone else.
Whitney Myers won the women's 200-meter individual medley, edging Rebecca Soni with a time of 2:17.42.
Olympian Chloe Sutton won her third race in the 800 free with a time of 8:34.55.
