FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Arkansas track and field coach John McDonnell has been named to the 2008 U.S. Olympic staff as middle distance coach.
The Razorbacks have won 42 national championships in track and field and cross country under McDonnell. He has coached 23 Olympians, but the 2008 Games in Beijing will mark his first appearance on the Team USA staff.
McDonnell's Razorbacks won the Southeastern Conference indoor championship in February. Arkansas' men tied for seventh at the NCAA championships this month.
