LONDON -- Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt will compete in the 100-meter race at the London Grand Prix in July as part of his preparations for the world championships in Berlin.

The Jamaican sprinter, who won gold in the 100, 200 and 4x100 relay at last year's Beijing Games, will run the shorter distance at the July 24-25 meet -- just three weeks before the worlds from Aug. 15-23.

Bolt, who is also set to run in Britain next month at a road race in Manchester, ran the 200 at the Crystal Palace track in 19.76 seconds last year just before breaking the world 100 and 200 records in Beijing.
