Greek sprinters ordered to appear
ATHENS, Greece -- Greek sprinters Costas Kenteris and Katerina Thanou have been ordered to appear before an Athens court to answer questions in their perjury case.
They are accused of staging a motorcycle crash to avoid a doping test on the eve of the 2004 Athens Olympics. They also accused of making false statements and causing doctors to issue false testimony regarding their wounds.
They face misdemeanor charges over the accident. Both deny any wrongdoing.
The trial has dragged on for years because of frequent postponements. The court on Tuesday adjourned until Feb. 21.
The athletes were medalists at the 2000 Sydney Games.
