MANCHESTER, England -- American sprinter Allyson Felix will run a 200-meter race through the streets of Manchester next month.
The three-time world 200 champion will take on Britain's Christine Ohuruogu, the Olympic champion in the 400, on a specially built straight track in the Great Manchester City Games on May 15.
Felix ran a world-best time of 22.55 seconds to win the event last year.
"I love this concept of street athletics where the spectators are virtually rubbing shoulders with you and make it so exciting," Felix said.
The U.S. runner, who plans to compete in the 200 and 400 at the world championships in Daegu, South Korea starting Aug. 27, beat Ohuruogu over the longer distance in Zurich in 2009 and in Doha last year.
