Loui Eriksson scored twice and Sweden clinched the second seed in the Olympic hockey standings with a 3-0 win over Finland on Sunday night.
Sweden's win handed the top seed to the United States, which stunned Canada earlier on Sunday. Sweden (3-0) clinched a bye into the quarterfinals and will face the winner of Tuesday's Slovakia-Norway play-in game.
Finland (2-1), which like Sweden had a chance to clinch the No. 1 seed in certain tiebreaker scenarios, still gets a bye with the No. 4 seed and will play the winner of Tuesday's Czech Republic-Latvia contest.
After a Nicklas Backstrom's tally on a nice feed from Daniel Sedin gave Sweden a two-goal lead early in the second period, Eriksson scored his second power-play goal at 18:08 of the period. Finland had given up only one goal through two games.
Finland had six power-play opportunities through two periods but couldn't solve Henrik Lundqvist.
Sweden could have leapfrogged the U.S. for the top seed if it beat Finland by at least six goals.Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
