Kosir secures fourth win of season
L'ALPE D'HUEZ, France -- Dejan Kosir and Isabelle Blanc won a World Cup parallel giant slalom on Friday, just four weeks before the start of the Salt Lake City Olympics.
Kosir edged Siegfried Grabner and Dieter Krassnig for his fourth win of the season in the discipline.
He is the favorite for gold at the Olympics with a whopping 5,560 points in the event standings. His closest rival, Mathieu Bozzetto, has 3,860 points.
In the women's competition, Blanc claimed her first win this season in the parallel giant slalom. Karine Ruby, the Olympic favorite, finished second and Aasa Windahl placed third.
Ruby remained atop the event standings with 4,700 points after eight races. Blanc was in second place with 3,770 points.
