Finnish snowboarders finish 2-3-4

KREISCHBERG, Austria -- Tadej Valentan of Slovenia capitalized on a fall by 16-year-old Antti Auti of Finland on Sunday to win a jumping event in World Cup snowboarding.

Finnish snowboarders captured second, third and fourth place in the Big Air competition.

Auti was leading after the first two heats but fell in the decisive third heat.

Valentan earned 25.5 points for a nearly flawless performance in the third heat to win with a total of 50.9 points. Points were awarded for the best two of three heats.

Jari Tuoriniemi was second with 49.8 points, Auti was third with 49.2 and Risto Mattila was fourth with 47.1 points. Raphael Delfour of France finished fifth with 41.9.

Tuoriniemi led the intermediate World Cup standings with 1,400 points. Mattila had 1,300 and Auti 1,200.
