The Czech Republic became the third undefeated men's Olympic hockey team in group play Friday with a 5-2 win over Latvia.

Jaromir Jagr and Tomas Plekanec helped the Czechs take a 3-0 lead over Latvia before even allowing a shot. After Tomas Kaberle made it 4-0 with a power-play tally early in the second period, Latvia made the game interesting with two quick goals in the tail end of the frame.

Patrik Elias sealed the win for the Czechs with an empty-net shorthanded score at the 19:42 mark of the third period.

After the game, Jagr, who left the NHL for the Russia-based KHL in 2008, flirted with the idea of returning to the North American league.

"Maybe I want to try to play [in the NHL]," Jagr said.

Jagr, who has two goals and an assist after two tournament games, played in the NHL for 18 seasons.

"I think after the two years I've spent in Russia I can be a better player than I was when I left," he said. "I know that."

Jagr was drafted fifth overall by the Penguins in 1990. The NHL held that year's draft at B.C. Place, a domed stadium next door to Canada Hockey Place.
